Devils On Horseback
Intimidating name, simple recipe, perfect combination of salty & sweet! Devils on Horseback are simply dates stuffed with goat cheese & almonds, then wrapped in bacon. They’re pretty tasty & a great finger food to take to a get together with friends.
To start, slice one side of each date to remove the pits. Be careful not to slice all the way through or the cheese will have trouble staying inside.
Stuff each date with an almond & enough goat cheese to fill the void of the pit… and a little more.
Time for the bacon! Slice each strip in half & wrap each date, securing with a toothpick.
Bake on a wire rack over a sheet pan in a 400 degree oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy.
Serve warm or at room temperature, drizzled with balsamic glaze.
